讲述了以军师千浔与手下的族人融入人类社会为背景，以千浔和门下女弟子初七调查破坏人间和平的幕后黑手为故事主线，刻画了以千浔和张赫为中心的正邪两赋的正义感和悲剧美的故事。。本片根据同名京剧改编，源出「水浒传」，胡金铨编剧。值得一提的是，擅演悲剧的乐蒂首次以俏皮方式演出丫头一角。故事始于才子卞济（乔庄）落拓花田，卖画维生，与官家小姐（丁宁）一见锺情，却因恶霸（朱牧）介入而波折重重，闹出连篇笑话……。The film follows a BBC war reporter and Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack, whose careers were threatened by the investigation of the incident, as well as a former student who journeys back to the rural Ariel School.。
