在大街上，彷徨着一个落魄潦倒的青年（巴斯特·基顿 Buster Keaton 饰），他饥肠辘辘，无事可做，并且运气糟糕透顶。即便是免费的救济面包，也阴差阳错拿不到手。他四处闲逛，来到一家照相馆前。真是霉运当头，此时里面正在给一个杀人犯（Malcolm St. Clair 饰）拍照，杀人犯却耍花招让摄影师拍到了青年的脸，自己则趁乱溜之大吉。 在此之后，他又偶然惹上了警察，以至于被他们连追了几条街，甚至不得不条上火车逃跑。当他来到另一个城镇却惊讶的发现，印有自己头像的通缉令贴满了大街小巷。他成了杀人在逃的重大杀人犯……。2004年，专事搜寻矿藏的PS-12号卫星在南极洲14区探测到不明热源，并发现这里有未知文明的遗迹存在。为了抢在他人之前探明真相，PS-12所属公司老板查尔斯·比绍普·韦兰德随即召集格瑞米·米勒、艾莉莎·伍兹等一众科学精英组成探险队，朝着人类从未践足的布维岛挺进。 探险队下到地下2000公尺的地洞内，杂糅了各种文明的遗迹令他们目瞪口呆。更令探险队想不到的是，在他们之外来自外星的铁血战士也盯上了这里。他们将和埋藏于此的异形进行宿命的决斗，弱小的人类探险队被迫卷入其中……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
